Nasser was replaced by Anwar Sadat as the leader of Egypt in 1970, and only two years after taking the reigns Sadat ousted all Soviet advisors for he did not believe that Egypt could align with the Athiest Soviets. Additionally, he planned for the Yom Kippur War and eventually won the Nobel Peace Prize for requesting peace with Israel in 1977. Sadat was the main cause the Camp David Accords were put into effect.
