Summary
By 1945 the CCP along with Mao Zedong had liberated much of Northern China from the Japanese, while on the other hand the United States was fully in support of Chiang. The Civil War began two years later in 1947 and ended shortly after in 1949. Following the conflict, Chiang along with his party fled to Taiwan to officially set up Nationalist China. Lastly, the People's Republic of China was formed on October first of 1949.
