Summary
During the reign on Mao the political idealogy of Democratic Centralism had been adopted in which the people excercised complete obedience to the leader, based on the Leninist model. Eventually, a five year plan was implemented with the USSR's help, and still there was an emphasis on heavy industry. Similiar to Russia a form of collectivization had been created and was in turn named Agricultural Producer Cooperatives (APC's). Mao claimed that collectivization was the only method to bring the Chinese peasants out of poverty, and equal the playing field among the people.
