A number of trials were held in the German city of Nuremberg in 1946 by which 177 Nazi's were accused for war related crimes. Most of these accusations were made on the basis of being crimes inhumane crimes that occurred as a result of the holocaust. All of the Nazi's were permitted access to lawers, and only three were acquitted. On the other hand the remaining men were sentenced to long terms in jail or to be hanged.
