Summary
Mussolini was the father of fascism, and he first came to power after the March on Rome. He used intimidation and propaganda through his paramilitary force called the blackshirts to instill fear in the people. The parliament of Italy created a petition in the interest of the safety of Italy against Mussolini but he refused to sign it as Mussolini took complete control. The blackshirts had eliminated any opposing political parties by 1926 leaving the father of fascism to rule in an uninterrupted fashion.
