Gandhi walk on foot from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, Gujarat just to attain some salt which is a total distance of 240 miles

Gandhi was also arrested and put in prison

It also must be noted that thousands of other people followed him as the march lasted from March 12th to April 6th, 1930. As a result, support was drawn to the Independence movement and India and across the world. Lastly Gandhi was put in jail.
